It’s not a slight to anyone, if we are being honestI am lucky to remember how to spell my fucking name after the year we have had. I know I have forgottensome people, and I am sure some good friends. There was a lot, but not a huge abundance of albumsI received this year so I tried to lean more towards the Celtic Punk. Section #2 – Celtic Punk & Rock Albums like always, the meat and potatoes. Section #1 – Achievement Awards – There were only 2 band that released retrospectivealbums, both of which were 2 of my favorite albums this year, but how do you top a Best of Album? So in fairness, they got their own category to allow room for other people trying to shinein dark days. Without further hub-bub this is The Best of 2020– Because this past year was a little bit differentso is the list. You kept my spiritsalive and countless others in our darkest times and I cannot thankyou enough.
And for your tirelessefforts I thank you from the bottomof my lint filled pockets and also from the deepest cornersof my heart. In that capacity this year was brilliantand I applaud you all, every single musician grinding and making it work, because out of everyone this year has been the hardeston all of you. Whether it be our favorite musicians retooling their cataloguesto new artists making their debuts or some of our favorites collaboratingto great something entirely new.
There has been no end to the crazyshit that has plagued us this year from Politics to Pandemics and I am glad to see it out the door with a heartyslam and a fuck you! With that being said this year has seen no shortage in music. To say 2020has been a bit of a train wreck would be the biggest understatementof the century.
